Have been as frustrated as anyone by Benrahma but he was our biggest threat and was a bit astonished by Moyes DIATRIBE against him.
Sounded like a manager who has given up on him and cant wait to get him out.

Yes, this nonsense about the keeper being behind him feels made up and cant recall that ever being applied before. Often there is a handball with other players behind the culprit on the line and its always a red

Benny was really good at times , but other times so weak especially 50/50s countless times 1st half there right winger got a quick cross off so many times and benny only had to stand there to stop it, instead he wandered around its u8s level mark your man funnily when he did he sprang attacks. You wont but go and watch again ,benrahma lost so many simple balls in our half as well.

I'm pretty sure they have just invented the "yellow because the keeper was behind him" clause

In the defenders mind he handled because he thought it was the only way of preventing a goal. If he didn't think that he wouldn't have handled. The intent to prevent a goal was clear. A red was the only logical decision

When was the last time either Benny or Bowen cut inside and scored from a shot? That's my annoyance with Moyes, his inability, or stubbornness to change things around. As an opposition manager you know how West Ham will play and you can probably also guarantee what subs are coming on and when. The only surprise yesterday was that Benrahma wasn't hooked so at least Moyes realised he was playing well. Why not at least just swap the wide men with 20 to go so at least they can go outside and cross with their better foot with Antonio, Soucek and even Scamacca in the box. Worth a try rather than overloading the middle.

Yes, Benramha was good yesterday. Don’t make any sense to sell him cheap.

Shows how in touch with the team moyes is, trying to sell Benrahma who was our best player yesterday! If the clown was capable of attracting top players into the club it wouldn't be so bad but players were turning us down before yesterdays performance.

Frankly benrahma was easily our best outfield player yesterday, moyes cunting him off is simply out of order.

Forest are not even in the city.

All abit confusing that.

Fraser - Moyes is showing signs of cracking. His beligerent manner towards Benrahma is embarrassing. Benny did more than any other player yesterday to win us the game. Had we converted those chances he would've got MOTM. No doubt.

Moyes is going to lose Benny. And I think he may start to lose the dressing room.

Quite frankly, I think Moyes is a bit of a cunt. He's a spiky and childish twat when things aren;t going well. I'm a bit sick of him to be honest.

There were three bad crosses from Benrahma, he also laid on a few clear cut chances.. Scored with a good finish.. After he'd carried the ball two thirds up the pitch.

Took a brilliant free kick too, I think that's enough end product, yet some want to focus on the three crosses that never came off.

It was exactly that, a clear goal scoring opportunity

The ball was on target otherwise the cunt wouldn’t have handled it

Glen yes he put some shit crosses in yesterday but he he created some guilt edged chances.
If you think his return is not good enough he scored nearly twice as many goals as fornals who probably started twice as many games

Like I said he is streaky but for the manager to say there was no end product yesterday is just simply not true.
I’m not saying he’s a world beater but I honestly don’t remember the manager ever having a positive word to say about him
I remember him creating a chance for fornals just after they scored a cross Bowen might of done better with Soucek for the pen and the pass to fornals when he hit the bar, also stuck his chance away very well.
If I was Moyes id be criticising the likes of Soucek who missed 2/3 sitters and both fullbacks who’s crossing was miles worse than benrahama.
The fact he actually scored more goals than cornet shows that maybe his end product is not as bad as some make out

I thought any red for a handball was 'denying a clear goalscoring opportunity' (aside from the keeper handling outside his area, although that seems to be a yellow card offence now? So Henderson being behind the player must have been deemed enough for it to not have been denying a clear goalscoring opportuity.

If Henderson was not behind him, then yes it should have been a nailed on red card. Although with the 'triple threat rule', it makes it even more muddy as to what should happen and when- or does that just apply to goalkeepers rather than outfield players?

That's a good point Sven. We roll over when decisions go against us. I watched the officials coming off at half time. They should have been surrounded by half our team and the coaches. They.weren't. They left the field completely unbothered by complaints. Same with Moyes after. Ordinarily I'd say the captain should have been in their face but his yellow meant it was sensible to stay out of it. Would have been good to see some leadership from the rest of the players too.

In truth, we have been weak on this area for 20 years with the notable exceptions of Nolan and Lucas Neil. I've no doubt it explains many of the poor decisions we have had as refs go for the easy life.

Re: ⚽ Notts Forest v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
In my biased view Antonio was trying to make a run into the box and the defender blocked. him. Play on! As said punished because he was stronger in the coming together.
If thats a free kick there should be 5 at each corner as players block each other ... attackers & defenders

The MOTD commentator said was possibly a yellow for the handball because Henderson was behind him and might have saved it. Is that the Law? Dont think so .... deliberate handball is a RED as far as I knew. Any refs can clear that up but feels like a special 'Fuck West Ham' interpretation.
Not helped by Moyes bending over post match and refusing to complain.
The more he does that unfortunately the more we will be arse raped by refs looking for quiet life. Klopp etc would have had a brain explosion if that happened to Liverpool

There were a lot of poor performances but Benrahma was lively, positive on the ball and one of, if not our best player.

But his final ball is awful at times and that is where the frustration is. I counted at least 3 times where his final ball didn't hit the first man or looped over everyone's heads.
I also remember one time when he lost the ball in possession right on the edge of our box.
And his shooting is largely ineffective too.

It is these final details as to why Moyes loses his patience with Benrahma. For the quality he does possess, his goals and assists contributions should be way higher. He has to do better at times. I do agree that he was bright and positive against Forest and had one of his better games, but over the course of a season he is largely ineffective and Moyes clearly sees this - hence Cornet.

IMO the keeper was probably getting it from what I saw. He was diving behind the player in the direction of the ball so for me no hard feelings on that one. I wondered why on earth the ref was watching the replay so many times for something that seemed so clear cut but he was obviously trying to deduce if it was a red card given the penalty wasn't really even in dispute from the footage.

For me not a red, but i see why people might wish to suggest it could have been.

What a charmed life their goal led yesterday...

Moyes comments on benrahama are beyond ludicrous. No wonder the lad is so devoid of confidence.
He was by far and away our best player and tk claim there was no end product us laughable.
He created plenty of clear cut chances and scored a perfectly good goal with an excellent finish and was desperately unlucky with the free kick . Moyes clearly has it in for him more goals than Lanzini and fornals put together last season in probably half as many starts.
Yes he’s a streaky player but when he’s on form like yesterday he’s by far the most productive of the three.
